Role Overview

This role involves overseeing the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of budgetary activities necessary to produce budget reports including monthly financial reports, and other required reports. The individual may need to supervise the work of other budget staff and work under minimal supervision, with extensive attitude of initiative and independent judgment.

Profile Description

  • Perform detail work in assisting in the preparation of and review of budget amendments.
  • Responsible for the quality of budget execution, budget formulation, and budget presentations
  • Track obligations for certain cost categories such as inter-and intra-agency agreements.
  • Enter research contract data into a budget office database and produce reports on a periodic basis.
  • Assists analysts in converting raw data in the accounting reports for current and past years into an organized display for use in forecasting future operational expenses.
  • Develops proposals for budgetary procedures
  • Audit various account transactions to ensure correctness of disbursements and adherence to relevant staff rules, financial regulations and rules.
  • Forecasts and tracks financial results throughout the year to meet budget projections.
  • Organizes budget templates and data in a clear and intuitive manner.
  • Helps identify financial or operating risks associated with the execution of the contract or project.
  • Provides project summary status reports to management as required or requested.

Desired Experience and Skillset

 

  • 6 - 9 years of experience and good knowledge of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Good understanding of accounting and audit experience.
  • Budget process receives expense reports and understand forecasting.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Good proficient in the use of common business applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
